It is vital for both owner and pet that your dog is obedient and well-behaved; this will lead to a happier relationship and pleasant home environment. Many things can cause your dog to misbehave or appear out of character, such as separation anxiety/ household changes that result in less desirable behaviours from your dog/introduction of a new dog or pet to the home and complaints that have resulted from your dog. Our GC Dog Training trainer provides in-home behavioural sessions for your dog on the Gold Coast to identify and resolve these issues. Training sessions are for dogs above the age of 4 months (16 weeks), and we conduct them in the comfort of your own home, allowing us to observe them in their environment and create the best plan for your dog and your family. | Book Now |

GC Dog Training's Cane Toad Recognition and Avoidance Training Program is now formally approved by the DPI Animal Ethics Committee (May 2026) and available for bookings.
The program is designed to help dogs learn to recognise and avoid cane toads in the environment — reducing the risk of poisoning incidents that send Gold Coast dogs to emergency vets every year.
The program is available for dogs 16 weeks and older and is individually designed based on each dog's assessment outcomes.
Program highlights:
• Welfare-focused — non-aversive methods used as the primary training pathway
• Individually designed following a suitability assessment
• Ethically approved — DPI AEC approved, May 2026
• Veterinary-endorsed program design
• Structured follow-up monitoring at 24 hours, 30 days and 3 months post-training
To book a suitability assessment or register your interest, contact us below or book online.
Book a pack of in-home training sessions and receive a discount on the normal hourly rate. Each session will be booked at the end of the previous session at a date and time that suits.
New clients are recommended to book a single session with Matt before purchasing the pack of training sessions. If, after the initial session, you decide to do the pack of training sessions, then the first session can then become the first of your pack of sessions if you choose.
If you are unsure how to proceed with getting some training for your puppy or dog, book this initial phone consultation to discuss your situation and if GC Dog Training can help.
If you would like to discuss whether the cane toad recognition and avoidance program may be suitable for your puppy or dog, please book this initial phone consultation.
